The Route
The Choo Choo Challenge weekend offers a route that provides cyclists
with a sampling of the rivers, lakes, rolling hills and valleys
of Southeast Tennessee.
Like last year, we plan to have two hubs for the event: BellSouth
Park in Chattanooga and Bryan College in Dayton. However, this year
on Day 1 we will offer several route options: an all new 25 mile
route that will begin and end at BellSouth Park, a 62.5 mile route
for those who want to complete a metric century, and a 100 mile
route for those who want to complete a century. All cyclists will
depart together from BellSouth Park on Saturday, June 4. The 25
mile cyclists will enjoy a whole new route that begins and ends
at BellSouth Park. The other cyclists will enjoy a route that travels
along the Sequatchie Valley through the communities of Soddy Daisy,
Mowbray Mountain, Graysville, and Dayton. Once in Dayton, the metric
century cyclists will head toward the finish line at Cedar Point
Park. The century cyclists will continue on a tour through Evensville,
and Dayton’s surrounding countryside.
For those of you who can only be with us on Saturday, the CCC will
provide transportation for you and your bicycles back to BellSouth
Park throughout the afternoon and early evening.
On Sunday, we will ride through Dayton, Birchwood, Cleveland, and
Ooltewah. We will offer a few route options from Dayton to the finish
line at BellSouth Park: 85 miles and 50 miles. You may also elect
to ride a shorter distance and the CCC will transport you and your
bicycle back to BellSouth Park when you have finished riding.
The CCC will have sweep vehicles along the road to assist cyclists
to water stops if needed.
Those of you who may want to do a trial run on your bike or by
car please download the exact route from the link provided.
At registration, however, each cyclist will be provided with a
map that delineates the route very clearly. Rest assured that volunteers
will be on the road throughout the event to direct your Choo Choo
Weekend.
